Before using Muster, the Virginia Forestry Association (VFA)’s key lobbying challenge was engaging its membership in legislative initiatives and understanding the effectiveness of member participation. During the 2016 Virginia General Assembly, Muster allowed the VFA to galvanize its membership base to successfully advocate on critical fiscal legislation, all while easily tracking its members’ involvement.

The Results

Muster’s advocacy tools provided a simple way for VFA’s members to easily engage in the legislative process, with over 80% of the membership participating in advocacy with the first Muster Action Alert. Prior to using Muster, VFA emailed members to urge them to reach out to legislators on their own time and relied on basic metrics provided by their email service. Now with Muster’s complete analytics reporting, the VFA government affairs team can report to the Board of the association and continue to make data-driven decisions to inform future advocacy efforts.
