Virginia College of Emergency Physicians (VACEP) came to MusterTM with the challenge of having a small staff coupled with a member base that had little or no time for advocacy. Muster helped mobilize VACEP’s membership to advocate against legislation that was harmful to patients and to the emergency physicians. VACEP had worked for years to overturn this legislation.

The Results

Muster worked with VACEP’s Executive Director to implement landing pages and calls to action that allowed the busy physicians to easily contact their elected officials. Engagement rates skyrocketed among members, and nearly 90% of VACEP’s members contacted their legislators after being directed to Muster’s action centers. The outpouring shown by VACEP’s membership led to their legislative victory, resulting in fair compensation for emergency physicians. Membership-driven advocacy was vital in helping lawmakers understand how the legislation impacted emergency physicians.
