As a local trade association with over 4,500 members, the Richmond Association of REALTORS® (RAR) came to Muster with the goal of finding advocacy software that could accurately match constituents with specific legislators at the federal, state, and local level. Before switching to Muster, RAR experienced difficulty with inaccurate geo-targeting provided by their previous advocacy software that relied on basic zip-to-district matching. RAR needed to fortify political advocacy efforts with an online advocacy program that would allow them to accurately determine which legislators represent their constituents.
Broadly, geocoding is the process of utilizing spatial data to pinpoint an exact geographic location.
Muster’s geo-targeting system matches constituents with legislators by turning addresses into coordinates, allowing RAR to accurately isolate and target the right constituents when mobilizing them on legislative issues. RAR relies on Muster to inform geo-targeted segments of their membership about Town Hall meetings, issues at the General Assembly and who should contact local City Councilpersons.
Muster is an advocacy and analytics platform that organizations use to engage supporters, influence public policy, and gain further insight into their audience.
